Dozer is the kind of horse that makes you feel safe before you ever swing a leg over. This 14 year old, 15.2 hand chestnut gelding is extremely safe, incredibly gentle, and one of the sweetest horses you could ask to be around. He is built like a brick house, stout and beautifully put together, with a smooth, comfortable way of going that makes every ride enjoyable. Behind all that size is an incredibly sweet, kind hearted horse who truly enjoys his job and takes care of his rider. He is the kind of horse you can confidently put your kids or husband on and know they are going to have a good time.
Dozer is the kind of horse you can get on and immediately feel comfortable with. He has easy buttons, is soft in the bridle, and is very willing to do whatever you ask of him. He walks and trots easily, picks up both leads when loping, and will even do flying lead changes. He neck reins nicely and correctly and is happy to go wherever you point him. He is extremely smooth to ride and is just as enjoyable in the arena as he is out on the trails. He can even be ridden bridleless.
Dozer is just as dependable out on the trail as he is in the arena. He is happy to lead the group, ride in the middle, or bring up the back and does not get worked up about where he is. He will confidently cross through brush, puddles, and water and is sure footed and careful about where he places his feet. He is very desensitized, not spooky, and handles new things with a calm and sensible attitude. He is also good around dogs and other livestock and takes everything in stride.
One of the best things about Dozer is how genuinely enjoyable he is to have around. He is very, very sweet and loves attention. He will ground tie and stands quietly to be saddled, groomed, and bathed. He is the kind of horse that is happy to stand around with you and be your buddy just as much as he is happy to go for a ride.
Dozer trailers and hauls well and handles himself well wherever you take him. He is also an easy keeper and does well living on pasture in a mixed herd or being kept in a stall, making him just as easy to manage as he is to ride. He is the type of horse you can pull out, saddle up, and trust to give you the same calm, dependable ride every time. Whether you want to spend the afternoon in the arena, take a long trail ride, or simply enjoy having a gentle horse around the barn, Dozer is happy to be there with you.
A horse with this much size, sweetness, and trust is hard to find. Dozer is the kind of gelding that makes you look forward to every ride and enjoy the time you spend with him, whether you are in the saddle or simply hanging out around the barn. If you are looking for a horse that is safe, gentle, smooth, willing, and genuinely enjoyable to have in your life, Dozer may be the one you have been waiting for.
