Leo ist ein wunderschöner, ausdrucksstarker Wallach mit drei überdurchschnittlich guten Grundgangarten und einem tollen Charakter im Umgang. Im täglichen Umgang ist er für mich wirklich ein absolutes 12 von 10-Pferd – freundlich und unkompliziert.
Trotzdem möchte ich bei diesem Inserat von Anfang an ganz offen und ehrlich sein: Leo wird ausdrücklich nicht als klassisches Reitpferd abgegeben.
Leo hatte in der Vergangenheit einen schweren Unfall beim Reiten, der bei ihm eine ausgeprägte Angststörung ausgelöst hat. Seit inzwischen über drei Jahren arbeiten wir daran, ihm wieder Sicherheit und Vertrauen zu vermitteln. Ursprünglich war Leo als mein persönliches Nachwuchspferd gedacht. Nach unserem Unfall fehlt mir jedoch das Vertrauen, mich weiterhin auf ihn zu setzen. Gleichzeitig habe ich gemerkt, dass das Reiten für Leo mit zu viel Stress verbunden ist. Das Reiten will ich nicht komplett ausschließen, aber wenn, dann kommt wirklich nur ein sehr erfahrener Reiter/ Bereiter infrage, der Freude an einem solchen Projekt hat und bereit ist, ihm WIRKLICH VIEEEL ZEIT zu geben.
Leo braucht einen Menschen mit sehr gutem Pferdeverständnis, viel Erfahrung, Ruhe und vor allem Geduld. Druck funktioniert bei ihm nicht. Er muss kleinschrittig und in seinem eigenen Tempo arbeiten dürfen.
Daher ist Leo definitiv kein Pferd für Anfänger. Aber auch erfahrene Reiter sollten sich sehr ehrlich fragen, ob sie einer solchen Aufgabe tatsächlich gewachsen sind. Es haben sich bereits mehrere sehr erfahrene Menschen an Leo versucht – auch für Profis war er eine große Herausforderung. Selbstüberschätzung ist hier absolut fehl am Platz!
Mir ist wichtig, für Leo nicht einfach irgendeinen Platz zu finden, sondern das richtige Zuhause, in dem seine Grenzen respektiert werden und er langfristig zur Ruhe kommen kann.
