Where do I even begin with a pony this GREAT! If you want a pony that rides like a big horse and will go anywhere and do anything your kid asks, this is the one for you! Chief is a 5 yr old Half Gypsy Vanner paint pony that stands 12.2 hands tall and THICK!!! He is one of those you never have to worry about when your kid wants to go ride, he is a true kids pony DELUXE. Whether you’re in the arena or out on the trail, Chief is the go to for all ages, he is such an easy going, calm minded guy. He will side pass, opens and closes gates, Walk/Trot/Lope easy circles, catches both leads and has a great stop! He rides Western or English, he would be a great short stirrup mount as he will even ease over small jumps fluently. He is truly the kind you don’t see offered for sale, he’s a part of our family and one of the favorites in the barn for all the visitors. Chief is easy easy to be around, he leads, loads, stands tied quietly, bathes, and saddles/bridles with ease. My girls (7 & 10) catch and saddle him while riding their Segways, he couldn’t care less! Chief is a been there done that type pony with a lot of experience under his belt. He is 110% safe with absolutely NO kick or bite and has ZERO buck or freshness even if you leave him stalled for weeks at a time. He has been hauled extensively to town, trail rides, working cows, and ropings (ropes swinging and loud speaker systems don’t bother him a bit!) He is comfortable with tarps, flags, traffic, dogs, and busy town settings, including sidewalks and crowds. He hauls well and eats/drinks in new places. I haven’t found anything that bothers him. He loves to explore and is always very confident! Chief has a great disposition, he loves people and is always one of the first to meet you in the pasture. Chief has excellent ground manners, making him safe for the littles to groom. Chief is very reliable on the trail, he takes care of his rider, even on steep creek banks/crossings, rough country, and will not jump the water, he always takes care of his rider. He will calmly ease into and out of water without hesitation. He rides well alone or in a group and is comfortable leading or following on a loose rein. Chief is also great inside the arena. He has been started on barrels, poles, goat tying, and breakaway. He has also been used for lead-line for the little ones! I can’t say enough good things about him! He requires no special maintenance and is easy to keep. He is up to date on farrier, deworming, and vaccinations. Chief is 100% sound and stays barefoot. Don’t miss out on a special pony like this one!
